Ronnie’s Bar Announcement

Posted on September 17, 2014 in Ronnie's News

After seven wonderful years transforming Dukes Court from virtual wasteland into the centre of Macclesfield’s late night entertainment, Ronnie’s Bar is moving to new premises.

It has been a great ride in Dukes Court but the time is right to move on. The opportunity to move into bigger and better premises was too big to resist. From the beginning of October (first night Friday 3 October 2014) Ronnie’s will operate from 84b Mill Street (just next to the bus station), in the premises currently known as Kiva.

We will be taking everything with us, that’s the fantastic staff & DJs, the latest licence in town and of course the Ronnie’s Membership stuff which earns you free drinks and other great stuff. The big difference though is the sound system, which is immense, and a stage that allows us to dedicate a better space to live performance.

The superbly spacious outside area is also undergoing a major transformation. The walls are tumbling down (cue The Style Council). The front wall is dropping to a level that allows you to see the premises and the rear wall is being replaced. Add to this a mixture of external lighting, a bit of greenery and maybe a water feature and we will have a fantastic new venue in the heart of the town.

Other additions as we move up towards Christmas will be additional serving area to alleviate the crush at the bar.

Owner Ronnie Rees says *the opportunity to move Ronnie’s Bar to a better location was hard to resist; you will see changes in Dukes Court over the next few months that would have forced us to change the way we operate, but by moving we will not only be preserving all that’s good about Ronnie’s Bar we have also opened up new opportunities allowing us to develop a proper live music venue to compliment the best late night entertainment served up by our brilliant DJs and superb quality drinks mixed and poured by our fantastic staff. We are excited about this and hope that all of our clients and members enjoy the new Ronnie’s as much as they did in the old venue. The people who frequent Ronnie’s are as important to the atmosphere as much, if not more than, the drinks and the entertainment we deliver.

“My motto in life is: Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what could be, which sums up the move really.

“There will be one last big party at old Ronnie’s on Saturday 27th September; we have a great line up of DJs and a very late finish to boot. It will be emotional but it will also be a fantastic way of closing one chapter before starting the next the following week in the new premises, see you then!”
