This week at Ronnies

Posted on June 18, 2011 in Ronnie's News

What a shame the weather was so disgusting on Sunday. Those that did brave the elements were treated to an intimate performance from three great singer song writers. Two from Australia – Coby Grant and Prita and one from London Julianne Jessop. We couldn’t let them perform in the usual space as the weather was like a winter’s day rather than a summer one so they performed inside.

It was though fantastic entertainment and I’m sure you’ll be hearing more from all three of them over the coming months. This week sees the return of the Barnaby Festival in the town. The whole thing kicks off with ArtsXstra’s show in the Incubation Arts Studios in Dukes Court on Thursday evening at 6pm. As part of the event the rather splendid Glass Ankle will be performing live at Ronnie’s from around 8pm.

It will be a great event and a superb opener to the marvellous Barnaby’s second year.On to the rest of this week and we have another top quality line up of entertainment…..

Tuesday – Our famous Open Mic night. Come on down and see some great musicians doing what they love.

Wednesday – Classic Cocktail Wednesday. It’ll be the best cocktail you’ve ever had. (And two for a tenner with a clubcard)

Thursday – ArtsXstra exhibition with live performance from Glass Ankle. (And double points for all clubcard holders)

Friday – More fantastic live music as Rough Twist are live in the courtyard followed by Nu Disco with DJ Bert (without Brighty this week, because he’s on his honeymoon.. Congratulations Brighty!)

Saturday – Saturday is going to be just great as we’ve got Steeve Mac and his Sunshine Groove Thing.Sunday – Chill out at Ronnie’s on

Sunday – the best way to end the weekend.

And finally, we have decided to extend the Win a £100 Bar Tab promotion for the rest of this week. All you have to do to enter is buy a bottle of the fantastic Hollows Alcoholic Ginger Beer and you will be entered into the draw. We will make the draw on Sunday and notify the lucky winner by email. £100 to spend at Ronnie’s is a prize well worth winning and Hollows is a marvellous drink so it’s worth trying the drink just to have a chance of winning the prize.

You can spend the £100 on anything you want over the bar at Ronnie’s so give it a try.

See you soonRonnie
