What’s on this week.

Posted on April 11, 2011 in Ronnie's News

What a great weekend we’ve just had. Yesterday saw the first Battle of the Bands Final. Carjack Malone, Rich House & Friends, Old Yellow and Glass Ankle were all excellent. It was a great afternoon’s entertainment and showcased an unbelievable level of talent. Each band was a worthy winner but there could only be one unfortunately. Rich House and Friends won it but it was mighty close. Next Sunday we have the second final (details listed below), and if you love quality original live music you really shouldn’t miss it.

The weather was brilliant this weekend as well. Bert & Brighty were magnificent on Friday night and Steeve Mac launched his Sunshine Groove Thing on Saturday. The music they play and the outside courtyard creates a fantastic atmosphere. As the lead singer of Carjack Malone said yesterday, it’s always a great night at Ronnie’s, you can have a dance, a drink and a smoke (if you smoke that is) all at the same time.

This week then……

Monday – Back at work after a great weekend, so why not come down and chill out with a few drinks and look forward to Friday. And we’ve also got Liverpool v City on the big screen.

Tuesday – Live Music here at Ronnie’s with our magnificent open mic night. Come and see some fantastic local live musicians doing what they love.

Wednesday – Classic Cocktail Wednesdays at Ronnie’s Bar. The best cocktail you’ve ever tasted thanks to our premium list and trained mixologists. And for clubcard holders you can get two cocktails for £10.

Thursday – The weekend starts here as Steeve Mac is with us all night bringing us the best atmosphere.

Friday – More phenominal live music as Rough Twist play at Duke’s Court, live and for free, followed by DJ’s Bert and Brighty.

Saturday – Live football (see below), and then we have Steeve Mac again taking us into Sunday morning.

Sunday – More live music and this time it’s the second final of our FOMFEST Battle of the Bands. Come and have your say in who will get to play at the ‘Friends of Mine’ festival.

4PM Zap Zap Zap

5PM Steller

6PM The Tasers

7PM Maisie Johnson

And for those of you who like football we have the City v United FA Cup Semi Final on at the bar early doors on Saturday. Personally I’ll be at Wembley but for those of you not making the trip, enjoy the game at Ronnie’s with a couple of cocktails (remember its two for ten pounds for Ronnie’s Club Card Holders).

And finally because the spring weather’s great (well it was at the weekend) my cocktail of the week is the fruity and very more-ish French Martini. A mix of Chambord Raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice and Smirnoff Black Vodka, garnished with fresh raspberries, it’s the perfect drink for this time of year.

And here’s just one of the recent things you’ve told us about Ronnie’s….

“Excellent bar, bit different to usual bars, greatmusic, excellent DJ, atmosphere, friendly and good looking staff !! :-) x” – Caroline T
