This Week at Ronnie’s

Posted on April 4, 2011 in Ronnie's News

It’s a shame that the weather was so awful yesterday but despite the elements there was still a healthy turnout for the last heat of Battle of the Bands. It was a really good atmosphere and some outstanding live music from all participants. The winners going through to the finals were Rich House & Friends and Steller, so best of luck to them. The two finals over the next weekends promise to be exciting stuff. The quality of the finalists shows what superb talent there is in depth in Macclesfield and with the eventual winners of each final going through to perform at the Friends of Mine Festival in May the prize is certainly worth winning.

I can’t leave talking about last week without referring to a superb live set by our resident band Rough Twist last Friday. They really set the atmosphere for the rest of the night which our DJs Brighty and Bert continued until the early hours for a brilliant night’s entertainment. Steeve Mac continued the great atmosphere into Saturday night, so it was just an exceptional weekend here at Ronnie’s.

This week we continue the high standards….

Monday – You’re back at work.. So are we, so why not join us in Duke’s Court for a Monday night chill-out. Only four more sleeps until Friday after all..

Tuesday – Live music is back and it’s the Ronnie’s Bar open mic night. Free live music from some of the great, talented local musicians Macc has to offer.

Wednesday – Live Champions League football and later it’s our classic cocktails night. Two for £10 for Clubcard holders and why not upgrade to our premium list for the best cocktail you’ve ever tasted. Tuxedo’s and Cocktail dresses compulsory. Well, not really, but you can if you like!

Thursday – The weekend’s all but here, so why not come down and join Steeve Mac as the legendary DJ takes us into Friday morning.

Friday – Bert and Brighty bring us the best Friday night in Macc.

Saturday – Live football during the day and then Steeve Mac returns to bring us in to Sunday.

Sunday – We have more live Football, but then it’s the big one. The first of our FOMFEST finals. A Battle of the Bands to see who will go through to play in front of 10,000 at the Friends of Mine festival. Check for the line-up.

And my classic cocktail of the week this week is the gold old dependable Mojito, but made with Golden Rum for added flavour. You can have it with white or golden rum, this is just a superb long cocktail. For one of Hemmingway’s favourites we use genuine Cuban rum Havana Club or to be a little bit different we use the fantastic Pampero Venezuelan rum. And if you really want to push the boat out try a Ron Zacapa Mojito, it is fantastically expensive rum but it is just an exquisite drink.

See you soon.

The heart of entertainment in Macc!

PS We can confirm that there will be a mini Ronnie’s Bar at the Friends of Mine Festival. We will have our own stage in there so I’ll let you know about the full entertainment line up for that as soon as it’s confirmed. Meanwhile, don’t forget, if you buy your tickets through Ronnie’s you save all booking fees.
