This weekend’s football @ Ronnie’s
A bit of a mixed bag of footie on offer at Ronnie’s this week. No City game on our screens but we do have United v Liverpool, and there are a few reds of both persuasions that come in so I’m sure they’ll enjoy this one. So, all the games we have available to show are:
Saturday 18th September
It’s hard to see West Ham winning a game at the moment because they are pretty pooh right now. So I reckon Stoke will win 2-0
15.00 Villa v Bolton
With Gerard Houllier about to take over and Stevie Ireland now taking up his preferred position on the bench I can see Villa winning this 3-1
Or we could show Spurs v Wolves
I really like Mick McCarthy’s bluntness and he will always speak his mind, ‘is this the face of a man who gives a fuck’ was his reply to a particularly patronising interviewer last season, so more of that is always welcome. Consequently I’d like Wolves to do quite well. Wolves won here last year but unfortunately I can’t really see a repeat, so Spurs 2-1
17.30
Sunderland v Arsenal
Sunderland are all huff, puff and Darren Bent. They beat City a couple of weeks ago due to City’s negligence, not through great team spirit and endeavour as the Elephant Man would have you believe. Arsenal, fresh on the back of a hefty Champions League win will not be as profligate as City and will win easily. 3-1 to the Arse I reckon
Sunday 19th September
13.30 United v Liverpool
United are not quite there yet but I really can’t see them slipping up for the third game in a row. Liverpool always raise their game for this one but I can only see United winning, probably 3 or 4-2.
16.00 Chelsea v Blackpool
Chelsea’s early season stroll continues and they will win easily in this one. 4-0. The fixture list has been very kind to them so far and they are building up quite a momentum already because of this. But you can only beat the team you’re playing against and all other clichés I suppose.
