Ronnie’s Bar in Duke’s Court, Macclesfield is to host a charity music event on Sunday April 4th.

Music Is Power 2010 will feature some of the top live acts from around Cheshire showcasing a diverse range of acts from indie to folk and hard rock.

Taking place on Easter Sunday 4th April, the eclectic six hour event starts at 2.00pm and is in aid of the Youth Music charity (registered charity no. 1075032), a cause that helps improve the lives of disadvantaged young people by providing free access to a range of music-making projects and activities.

Since 1999, Youth Music has helped transform the lives of over 2 million children and young people through the power of music and because of the charity there are now more high quality music-making opportunities for a wider range of children and young people than ever before, from learning rock guitar or beatboxing to classical violin and everything in between.

Ronnie’s Bar owner Ronnie Rees said: “We have invested a lot in our staging here at Ronnie’s Bar to become what we think is the best live venue in town. Although our entertainment is usually free, we are always very happy to be able to use our facilities to benefit an excellent cause such as this. It is shaping up to be an excellent afternoon’s entertainment and we hope for a good turnout.”

The festivals aims are to not only raise funds for this cause, but also awareness of the organisation and of the positive and often life-changing effects music can have for young people.

With a raffle draw and food service available throughout, Music Is Power 2010 is set to be a fantastic day of live entertainment that will help to enrich the lives of children and young people all over the country.

Ticket can be purchased for £5.00 from Ronnie’s Bar or from the bands themselves with all proceeds going to charity.

And once the festival is finished our resident DJ Steeve Mac will take over the live entertainment into the early hours of the Bank Holiday Monday with free entry after 10.00pm.

The full line-up for the day is: Tom & Ferg, Christopher Birdsall, Rich House, Supernought, Old Yellow and Mars Black.
