Bling, gigs, DJs and parties – bring it all on…..

Posted on December 2, 2009 in Ronnie's News

I’ve woken up today in a very positive frame of mind. Up until today I’ve had one of those weeks where nothing was going right, people showing their true colours, suppliers not turning up, new equipment not turning up, you name it I’ve heard a hundred and one different ways of the old “it’s not you it’s me” excuse. It was only talking to my daughters last night that helped me understand that I shouldn’t stress about this, I am perfectly fine it’s everyone who let me down who are the losers. Now I’ve got that into my head I’m fine again.

The positive feeling I had was enhanced further when I read the Macc Express this morning. As promised the previous week, Garry The Hat’s column eulogised about Purple Haze, a charity event we hosted a couple of Sundays ago.

Ronnies Band 2Purple Haze – was a mini festival of local musicians and bands performing to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research. We didn’t organise it we just facilitated it, I don’t want to take away any of the glory from those that did organise it as they did a brilliant job. It was a rip roaring success, lots of people turned up and they managed to raise a lot of money (well over £1k I am told) for the cause. The music was terrific too. There really is some superb talent in Macclesfield. A very small snippet of some of the talent on show can be seen at www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/purple-haze-the-movie/ and if you want to see more, many of the bands are playing full sets at Ronnie’s in the near future, starting with Mars Black tonight from 8pm. This simply should not be missed they really have a great original sound, and for me Mars Black were one the highlights of Purple Haze. The full listing of bands on at Ronnie’s in December can be found at www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/live/ .

In fact we’re now moving into the festive season and we have a host of fantastic parties and events happening over the next few weeks. On Thursday this week we have a Bling party, details of which can be found at www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/bling-it-on-at-ronnies/ . Tickets for this cost £6 which includes a free glass of bubbly and canapés. One of the organisers of the recent Clarins evening is involved and it promises to be another great night. Please register your interest either by text by sending RONNIES BLING to 82055 or by emailing to info@ronnies-bar.co.uk with BLING as the subject. And remember; subject to availability you can still book your Christmas Party at Ronnie’s. It’s free room hire just visit www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/christmas-ronnies/ for more details.

Throughout the Christmas and New Year fortnight every night will have either a DJ or a live band, again see www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/live/ as we want to maximise your entertainment over this period. This will culminate with the best New Year’s Eve party at Ronnie’s. Contrary to what you may have already seen on the website, we are selling advance tickets for this at £5; you will also be able to pay on the gate on the night, subject to availability, so book early to avoid disappointment. See www.ronnies-bar.co.uk/nye-2009-ronnies-bar/ for details. The £5 gains you entry only to Ronnie’s as we are doing this on our own this year so with Steeve Mac on the decks, hot food, midnight countdown spectacular, very late (5am last orders!) bar, along with our usual high quality cocktails, service and friendly atmosphere you can guaranteed NYE @ Ronnie’s will be of the highest quality and will be the only party to attend this new year.

See you soon
